Description

A poor girl’s song of complaint as well as plea for aid from better-placed relatives and friends. Theme: Lack of intelligence and ability is the mother of failure, poverty – it is a social disgrace.

Description

Description

An orphan meditates on his grief, on the early death of his parents, and on the terrors of the grave – how roots and shoots of plants, and earth creatures such as crabs bore their way through the grave and into the hollow parts of the human bones. Theme: Death is always a double terror – for the one that left behind because of grief, and the ones dead because of the grimness of the grave.

Description
